SAN JOSE — A San Jose traffic accident caused “life-threatening injuries” to the victim who was struck in the incident, police said Saturday night.

The accident was reported to the San Jose Police Department at about 6:47 p.m. Saturday.

“Units are near the intersection of Tully Road and Huran Drive for a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian,” San Jose police stated in a tweet posted on the department’s Twitter page.

Extensive details regarding the accident weren’t immediately disclosed.

“The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries,” San Jose police tweeted Saturday night.

The location of the accident is on a busy street, Tully Road, where numerous retailers and restaurants operate. Eastridge Mall is a few blocks away.

“Traffic will be impacted while we conduct the investigation,” San Jose police reported. “Please avoid the area.”
