Following the popularity and competitive success of the TX22 Competition pistol, Taurus doubles down. As the most “factory-ready target handgun ever,” according to the company, the TX22 is a competitor’s delight. The Taurus TX22 Competition SCR
Like the original TX22 Competition, the SCR has a slide and barrel configuration that is competition-focused. As a result, the pistol can accommodate red dot optics and improve the balance and faster sight reacquisition. Additionally, like the original, the SCR features a precision-engineered slide and match-grade bull barrel.
Like the TX22, the SCR features a “skeletonized” slide with an enlarged ejection port. This allows a red dot optic to be mounted directly on the barrel as opposed to the slide. For this reason, empty shell ejection issues are mitigated. Correspondingly, the SCR ships with two adaptor plates, each featuring two mounting patterns to accept the leading red dots on the market.
Where the SCR steps up its game is in two specific factory upgrades and a few minor finish upgrades. First, is the addition of the TANDEMKROSS Game Changer Pro Squared Compensator. The included compensator features dual 45-degree-angle gas venting, resulting in reduced muzzle rise and recoil. It additionally helps with the gun’s overall balance for faster target re-acquisition. It also serves to keep your optic lens clear of gases and debris.
Second, is the TANDEMKROSS Eagle’s Talon extractor. The custom extractor is precision-machined out of tool steel, with a positive hook, providing a reliable grab on the cartridge. As a result, shooters experience reduced failure-to-eject malfunctions during high-volume cycling. Likewise, a high-polish custom feed ramp and target trigger system allow for high-speed competitive running and gunning.
