Veteran forward Taj Gibson is signing a deal for the rest of the season with the Detroit Pistons, his agent, Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports, told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Friday.
Gibson, 38, is expected to sign on Saturday. He joined the Pistons last week on a 10-day deal after being waived by the New York Knicks in early January.
Gibson, who is in his 15th NBA season, was a first-round pick of the Chicago Bulls in 2009 and spent eight seasons there. He has also played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Minnesota Timberwolves and Washington Wizards.
He has career averages of 8.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
