OAKLAND — A 28-year-old San Francisco man was fatally shot in East Oakland on Saturday night, authorities said.

His name has not yet been released.

The shooting happened about 10:32 p.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of 13th Avenue after the man got into a dispute with another person, authorities said.

After being shot the man was able to get into his vehicle and drive a few blocks before crashing in the 2100 block of 14th Avenue, police said. He was taken from there by ambulance to a hospital where he died at 11:02 p.m.

Why the man was in Oakland and what the dispute was about that led to the shooting are under investigation. No arrests have been made.

The killing is the 14th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 20 homicides in the city.
