BART is alerting travelers to delays and slower trips this holiday weekend because of stormy weather and the closure of the line between Richmond and Millbrae (red line) for maintenance work.

From today through Monday, Presidents Day, riders coming from Millbrae should take the shuttle to SFO and transfer to the SFO-Antioch line, according to the announcement posted on BART’s website. Riders from Richmond can take the Berryessa train and transfer at MacArthur station in Oakland to SFO. A free shuttle will be deployed every 20 minutes between Millbrae and SFO, BART said.

“Passengers traveling between El Cerrito Del Norte and Richmond stations today must transfer to a free bus while crews make extensive track upgrades. Please expect delays of 30 minutes on your trip,” BART said in its alert.

Workers are replacing an “interlocking” track section — which allows trains to move safely from line to line — near the Richmond Station. “Work will also be done to address vegetation that could impact service,” BART said.

Meanwhile, trains will be running at reduced speeds this weekend due to several storms expected to persist until Tuesday.

Other train lines will run from 6 a.m. to midnight on Monday.

Commuters can check departures on the BART app or the website.
