“The most nefarious type of fake news is when they do not cover something,” says Dave Rubin, giving the example of the mainstream media neglecting to report on the border crisis.
“That’s a type of fake news because they are controlling what the narrative is,” he continues, calling it “deception by choice” via “deciding what people can pay attention to.”
People like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Elon Musk, however, have combated this issue by going directly to the border and sharing their honest findings with the American public, which the “mainstream media” is “pissed about.”
In a recent discussion with Ben Shapiro, Musk shared his thoughts about issues regarding the “untold narrative” and what he’s doing to counteract it.
Musk explained that his management style of the X platform is designed to “increase the so-called Overton window.”
“Anything that’s sort of sensitive or that the media ignores, the public can then raise it on the X platform and make that an actual topic of discussion,” he told Shapiro.
Dave is a fan of this kind of “citizen journalism.”
“It sort of bubbles up from the bottom, and then the people decide, ‘Boy that’s interesting. Why wasn’t that on CNN?”’
