SAN MATEO — A 30-year-old Redwood City man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a hit-and-run involving two pedestrians a day earlier in San Mateo, police said.

The incident happened around 8:55 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Edison Street and West Hillsdale Boulevard, the San Mateo Police Department said in a news release.

Both victims were walking in a crosswalk on Edison Street when they were hit by a black Toyota Corolla, police said, adding that the driver did not stop at the scene.

One of the victims took a picture of the car and shared it with officers, who searched the area but did not find it, police said. The victims, meanwhile, received medical attention at the scene.

On Wednesday, officers found the car and the suspect in Belmont. The suspect was arrested and booked into San Mateo County jail on a felony hit-and-run charge, police said.
