MOUNTAIN VIEW – A 34-year-old man was arrested Monday evening in connection with two assaults and an injury hit-and-run in Mountain View, police said.

The spree started at 10:30 a.m., when the suspect assaulted a victim at Central Expressway and Moffett Boulevard, the Mountain View Police Department said in a news release.

Five hours later, a hit-and-run was reported at an apartment complex in the 2000 block of California Street. The suspect drove over the victim’s foot, yelled at him and then left the area, police said. The victim was treated for his injuries at a hospital.

The second assault happened just before 9 p.m. on California Street near Mariposa Avenue. The victim told police the suspect had chased and intentionally rammed his car.

Officers flooded the area and found the suspect vehicle, described as a gold Toyota sedan, traveling southbound on Escuela Avenue, police said. They stopped the vehicle in the 1900 block of California Street and detained the driver without incident.

Police said the victims identified the suspect as the person who either assaulted or hit them. He was arrested on suspicion of assault and felony hit-and-run resulting in injury.
