SAN MARTIN – A motorcyclist was killed and his passenger was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon near San Martin, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision happened around 2:45 p.m. at Uvas and Watsonville roads, the CHP said in a news release.

A 68-year-old Los Gatos man was riding a 2004 Harley-Davidson eastbound on Uvas Road toward the intersection and, per a witness, did not stop at a stop sign, according to the CHP. As he started to turn northbound on Watsonville Road, he was struck by a driver in a 2018 Toyota Camry traveling southbound on the same street.

The CHP said the man and his passenger, a 60-year-old Los Gatos woman, were ejected from the motorcycle.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his passenger was airlifted to Valley Medical Center in San Jose with major injuries, according to the CHP. The other driver was not injured.
