A school district in Illinois fired a grade school teacher who had posted about satanism and admitted having bipolar disorder with psychosis.

The disturbing posts from an art teacher hired at the William J. Butler Elementary School in Lockport and three other schools were circulated widely on social media by the popular Libs of TikTok account, among others.

“I HAVE BI POLAR 1 DISORDER WITH MANIA AND PSYCHOSIS!” read one post in all caps.

“This condition has drastically changed my life for better and worse,” he continued. “Because of it I suffer from irrational thought processes which make my fears and anxieties triple. Every day is a battle with my mind to survive and be the best me I can be. I have done things in conditions of psychosis and mania that have been violent and hurtful. But I am NOT my disease. I am ME! And I know ME. And I LOVE ME!”

Another post from the teacher claimed that white supremacists had infiltrated the police, and another appeared to show support for satanism.

The posts went viral on social media, and many demanded action from Homer Community Consolidated School District 33C. Some parents of students in the district were outraged by the controversial posts.

“If he has his lifestyle, so be it, but that is not going to be put onto our children,” said Julie McDaniel to WFLD-TV.

“I’ve seen some anti-religious, child sacrifice, there was Satan worship,” said another parent.

On Sunday, the school board had an emergency meeting about the teacher, and Superintendent Dr. Craig Schoppe said in a statement that the board had dismissed the teacher.

“The Board of Education held a special meeting this evening to consider action on an employee issue. The Board of Education approved the dismissal of a certified employee,” said Schoppe.

Some parents said they were upset that the district had not done enough due diligence before hiring the teacher, and they said they were organizing to unseat some school board members in the next election.
