SAN BRUNO — Detectives on Friday arrested a San Bruno elementary school teacher on suspicion of sexually abusing female students over a three-year period, police said.

Jeremy Yeh was taken into custody at Allen Elementary, San Bruno police Chief Ryan Johansen said in a recorded statement. Yeh also taught at the now-closed El Crystal Elementary.

Johnsen said Yeh is suspected of committing lewd and lascivious acts against three students between 2016 and 2019.

“This is obviously a disturbing case, one that is weighing heavily on the detectives who have been handling it and one that will have lasting impacts on our beloved community,” Johansen said.

Johansen said detectives believe there may be other victims.

“If your child was a student of Mr. Yeh’s, it might be appropriate for you to initiate some discussions with them,” Johansen said. “As a parent, I can only imagine how devastating this news is and how difficult it would be to broach such a traumatic topic with your children.”

Johansen urged parents to visit the Darkness to Light website for tips on how to discuss the subject.
