Amanda Serrano became the undisputed featherweight champion after a unanimous decision victory over Erika Cruz Saturday night at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Serrano (44-2-1, 30 KOs) has won world titles in seven different weight classes, but has never been undisputed — until Saturday night. The victory also set up a possible rematch against Katie Taylor, who defeated Serrano in a very close fight last April to defend her lightweight undisputed championship.
Cruz (15-2, 3 KOs) suffered her first loss in almost seven years.
