BRENTWOOD — A person died Friday after a big rig and another vehicle crashed on Highway 4 near a rural road in an unincorporated part of the city, the California Highway Patrol said.
The California Highway Patrol did not release many details initially. The crash involved an 18-wheeler truck and a sedan and happened about 9:40 a.m. on Hoffman Road, according to early reports confirmed by the agency
The crash caused both vehicles to block Highway 4.
The fatality marked the first one on Highway 4 this year. In 2022, the CHP investigated 15 fatal wrecks on the highway that resulted in the deaths of 19 people. Five fatal crashes have happened on the highway since Nov. 15.
