OAKLAND —  A traffic collision in East Oakland on Saturday morning left one driver in grave condition and another under arrest for driving under the influence, police said.

The collision happened at about 7:34 a.m. on the 1100 block of East 12th St.

Police said the two cars collided, and the 58-year-old man driving one of the vehicles, a sedan, was left in grave condition. The other driver, a 26-year-old man driving an SUV, was taken to a hospital for minor injuries where he was placed under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.

No other details were immediately available.
