Republicans won control of the House of Representatives in this year’s midterm elections, while the Democrats held onto the Senate.
A runoff Tuesday in Georgia will determine whether the Democrats will have 51 seats or 50. US Sen. Raphael Warnock is defending his seat against Republican challenger Herschel Walker.
While the loss of the House will hurt President Joe Biden’s domestic agenda, it was far from the “red wave” that many experts had predicted.
Dozens of governorships, secretaries of states and attorneys general were also on the ballot this November.
