OAKLAND — Police are investigating what they described as a “possible domestic violence-related kidnapping”  that happened Friday evening and had not located a victim as of Saturday morning, authorities said.

Police said that just before  5:30 p.m. Friday, witnesses reported a woman in a physical struggle with another woman in the area of Harrison and Pearl streets, a mostly residential area south of Interstate 580.

Witnesses said both women entered the same car and left before police arrived.

Investigators with the department’s Special Victims Unit took over the case.

The vehicle is described as an older gray, four-door Honda with a rear paper plate of 50089342.

As of Saturday morning, the vehicle had not been located and no one had contacted police to say they were the victim of a kidnapping in that area, authorities said.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Special Victims Section at 510-238-3641.
