Girls volleyball teams from across the Bay Area have spent the last week competing in section playoffs. The North Coast Section teams have finished the semifinals, and the surviving schools are set to play in the section championships on Saturday.

Meanwhile, most of the Central Coast Section teams are still duking it out in the semifinals, which will be played tonight.

A number of Bay Area squads are still competing, including St. Francis, Campolindo and a few others.

Here’s how the teams from the Bay Area News Group’s coverage area, which includes Contra Costa, Santa Clara, Alameda and San Mateo counties, did in the quarterfinals and semifinals, and who will play against who in the upcoming semifinal and championship rounds.

North Coast Section results

NCS D-I semifinals

No. 4 Foothill 3, No. 1 Monte Vista 1

No. 2 San Ramon Valley 3, No. 3 Amador Valley 0

Foothill pulled off the upset on Wednesday night and took down No. 1-seeded Monte Vista 3-1. Meanwhile, No. 2 San Ramon Valley easily swept No. 3 Amador Valley, winning two of the three sets by substantial margins. San Ramon Valley will host Foothill at 7 p.m. on Saturday for the NCS D-I championship. 

NCS D-II semifinals

No. 1 Campolindo 3, No. 4 Carondelet 0

No. 1 Campolindo won the matchup of elite Contra Costa County schools by winning its fifth straight match to advance to the D-II championship. Campolindo will host No. 2 Marin Catholic on Saturday at 7 p.m. 

NCS D-IV semifinals

No. 2 Head-Royce 3, No. 3 St. Mary’s of Albany 1

No. 2 Head-Royce continued its impressive run through the D-IV tournament with a 3-1 win against St. Mary’s of Albany. Head-Royce will travel north to play No. 1 Marin Academy for the D-IV NCS championship.

NCS D-V semifinals

No. 1 Urban 3, No. 4 Berean Christian 0

After sweeping No. 13 Credo and No. 5 Sonoma Academy, No. 4 Berean Christian’s impressive run through the tournament ended on Wednesday against No. 1-seeded Urban in the semifinal.

Central Coast Section results

CCS Open Division semifinals

No. 1 St. Francis 3, No. 4 Valley Christian 1

No. 2 Archbishop Mitty 3, No. 3 Sacred Heart Prep 0

What seemed to be inevitable is now guaranteed to happen: No. 1 St. Francis and No. 2 Archbishop Mitty will play for the CCS championship on Saturday, with the venue and time still to be determined. Valley Christian became only the second team aside from Sacred Heart Cathedral to take a set off St. Francis in the semifinal, while Mitty swept a Sacred Heart Prep team that had won 18 straight prior to that. 

CCS D-I quarterfinals

No. 1 Branham 3, No. 8 Gunn 0

No. 3 Menlo-Atherton 3, No. 6 Los Gatos 1

No. 5 Wilcox 3, No. 13 Milpitas 1

No. 10 Carlmont 3, No. 2 Mountain View 1

No. 10 Carlmont pulled off one of the truly stunning upsets of the tournament when it went into Mountain View and took down the No. 2 seed 3-1. Carlmont will play at No. 3 Menlo-Atherton tonight at 7 p.m. in the semifinal. Meanwhile, No. 5 Wilcox beat No. 13 Milpitas and No. 1 Branham took down No. 8 Gunn to set up the other semifinal match. That match will take place tonight at Branham at 6 p.m.

CCS D-II quarterfinals

No. 1 Aragon 3, No. 8 Prospect 0

No. 2 Monta Vista 3, No. 7 Westmont 0

No. 3 Hillsdale 3, No. 6 San Mateo 0

No. 5 Lynbrook 3, No. 4 Leigh 1

The semifinals are now set in an all-Bay Area pair of matches. No. 1 Aragon will host No. 5 Lynbrook at 7 p.m. tonight. A few miles away, No. 2 Monta Vista will host No. 3 Hillsdale at that same time. 

CCS D-III quarterfinals

No. 2 Soquel 3, No. 10 Saratoga 0

No. 3 Sacred Heart Prep 3, No. 6 King City 0

No. 4 Capuchino 3, No. 5 Aptos 0

No. 3 Sacred Heart Cathedral swept No. 6 King City and will travel to No. 2 Soquel for a matchup tonight at 7 p.m. Soquel swept Saratoga on Tuesday. No. 4 Capuchino swept No. 5 Aptos, and will now travel to Santa Cruz for a match at 7 p.m. on Thursday. 

CCS D-IV first round

No. 1 Carmel 3, No. 9 Harker 1

No. 2 Harbor 3, No. 7 King’s Academy 0

No. 6 Half Moon Bay 3, No. 3 Menlo School 0

No. 5 Mercy 3, No. 4 Notre Dame-Belmont 0

Summary: No. 6 Half Moon Bay upset No. 3 Menlo School in the quarterfinal to set up a match at No. 2 Harbor tonight at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, No. 5 Mercy will play at No. 1 Carmel at that same time. Carmel got past a tough Harker team in the quarterfinal.
