Two people were killed and another suffered major injuries in a crash on Highway 92 westbound, east of Foster City Boulevard on Friday morning, authorities said.
Around 9:44 a.m. the California Highway Patrol received a call that a silver Ford Fusion had veered to the right for “unknown reasons,” Officer Art Montiel said. The vehicle then drove onto the right shoulder where it crashed into the back of a parked Volvo Big Rig truck and came to a halt in a ditch.
The driver and the rear passenger died on the scene and the right front passenger was transported to Stanford University Hospital.
It is unknown if the driver was under the influence.
