A fire tore through a San Jose house on Wednesday morning, leaving one person hospitalized and five people displaced, according to the San Jose Fire Department.

The two-alarm blaze ignited about 11:20 a.m. at a house on the 2600 block of Glen Doon Ct. in East San Jose, near Lake Cunningham Regional Park, the fire department tweeted.

Two people were at home when the fire sparked, and they used a second-story balcony to escape the advancing flames before firefighters arrived, according to the fire department. One of them was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation.

The fire department did not release any information Wednesday on a possible cause of the blaze.
