PITTSBURG — A 24-year-old man was hospitalized after surviving a weekend shooting at a public intersection, authorities said.

In a statement posted to social media Sunday afternoon, police said officers responded within minutes to an East 12th Street home for a shooting report around 7:20 a.m.

At the home, officers found the man, a Pittsburg resident, suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body. He was taken to John Muir Medical Center for emergency surgery and later listed in stable condition, police said.

Soon after, investigators found an apparent shooting scene near East 10th Street and Railroad Avenue, and managed to collect evidence.

Investigators, who believe multiple suspects targeted the victim, were also reaching out to witnesses and collecting surveillance video footage, police said.
