A social worker said she was raped and brutalized by a man she was sent to help, and police saved her by shooting him in the head.

The harrowing story unfolded in Boca Raton, Florida, when the unidentified woman visited the home of Tzvi Allswang on July 1.

The mother of the woman alerted police later that night and said that she feared her daughter had been kidnapped after she went missing.

After investigating the matter, police went to the home of Allswang with the victim’s boss, but they left after being unable to contact with anyone inside the home.

When the mother of the woman insisted that police look at the residence again, they went back and saw that the daughter’s car was still in the driveway. While investigating, they heard a woman screaming from inside.

Deputies eventually forced their way into the home and found Allswang holding a knife to the woman’s throat in the master closet.

Police said the Allswang didn’t respond to their commands so a 14-year veteran of the force shot him in the head.

The woman said she felt the knife fall away from her neck after hearing the gunshot and she ran towards police.

Allswang was treated for his injuries and later appeared in court. He was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and charged with attempted first-degree murder, kidnapping, and four counts of sexual assault with a weapon.

The woman told police she had been the man’s mental health therapist for several sessions before the alleged attack. She claimed that he had raped her numerous times and beaten her while he held her hostage for 15 hours.

The police report noted that she “had visible bruising, abrasions and cuts on her arms, wrists, face and neck.”

Allswang is being held without bond.
