SANTA CLARA COUNTY – A 65-year-old San Jose man was killed in a solo-car collision Tuesday morning on Skyline Boulevard in Santa Clara County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at 9:40 a.m. south of Fox Run. The CHP said the man was driving southbound in a 2007 Honda Accord when he drifted to the right, traveled across the dirt shoulder and crashed into two boulders.

The car sustained major front-end damage and right front-side damage, according to the CHP.

The CHP said the man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 10:30 a.m.

The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity once it has been confirmed and his next of kin is notified.

The crash remains under investigation. The CHP is asking witnesses or anyone with information related to the crash to contact the San Jose CHP Area Office at 408-961-0900.
