An Interfaith Ukrainian Peace Concert fundraiser will be held Saturday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Antioch at 2200 Country Hills Drive.

The concert will feature Ola Herasymenko Oliynyk, a merited artist of Ukraine, who will play the bandura, a Ukrainian musical instrument that dates back to the 7th century. Originally used for accompaniment of epic folk ballads and occasional folk dances, the bandura became more popular over time and acquired more strings and became a fully chromatic concert instrument.

Also featured will be Ukrainian singers and dancers, an organist, professional trumpeter, a Jewish cantor, a Filipino choral group and more. Admission is free, but goodwill donations will be accepted. All proceeds will go to Ukrainian refugee assistance.

The concert will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Antioch Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2200 Country Hills Drive, Antioch.

The concert is sponsored by the Ukrainian-American Coordinating Council, the Interfaith Council of Contra Costa County and the Interfaith Peace Project.
