SAN BRUNO — A Caltrain collided with a vehicle Thursday morning in San Bruno, resulting in at least one person being taken to the hospital, according to authorities.

The crash occurred at about 10:38 a.m. when southbound train #506 collided with on-track equipment near Scott Street, said Caltrain spokesperson Dan Lieberman. The driver of the vehicle was taken to a hospital. Emergency personnel arrived on scene and trains were held on both tracks.

Social media photos of the crash showed parts of the train engulfed in flames, which have since been extinguished, according to Caltrain’s Twitter account. There were about 75 passengers on the train, with no reported injuries. SamTrans and BART are offering transportation for riders.
