Historic installation dinner
The Milpitas Historical Society installed its new board of directors Feb. 17 at Giorgio’s Italian Restaurant in Milpitas. The dinner was the society’s first since the pandemic began two years ago.
Milpitas Mayor Richard Tran officiated the directors’ swearing-in ceremony and presented Key to the City awards to incoming president Bill Hare, member Richard Santos of the Santa Clara Water District board, and Bud LoMonaco, vice president of the Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers board.
Incoming treasurer Joseph Ehardt received the Milpitas Historical Society Honorary Service Award and was presented with a California Legislative Assembly certificate of recognition by Assemblymember Alex Lee’s office.
In addition to Hare and Ehardt, the historical society’s officers for 2022 are vice president Catherine Pelizzari and secretary Carolyn Tiernan.
