OAKLAND — A 45-year-old woman was found shot Friday afternoon inside an RV parked next to a West Oakland homeless camp, authorities said.

She was taken to a hospital where she was in stable condition with a head wound.

The woman was found about 12:15 p.m. Friday inside the RV, which was parked on 13th Street between Mandela Parkway and Center Street outside the Cypress Freeway Memorial Park where a homeless encampment exists.

People in the area said the woman had lived in the RV for more than a year.

Police believe the woman was shot sometime Thursday night and were investigating if she was inside the RV when she was shot of if she was wounded outside and was able to make it inside the vehicle.

She was found after residents of the encampment became concerned about her and contacted authorities.

A motive for the shooting is under investigation.  No arrests have been made.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the shooter.  Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
