OAKLAND — A man was injured in a shooting Thursday in West Oakland, authorities said.

Shortly after 8:50 p.m., police responded to ShotSpotter reports of possible gunfire in the 1300 block of Center Street in the city’s Prescott neighborhood.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound to his back. His condition was not immediately available.

Investigators did not immediately share any suspect or vehicle description.

The shooting location was less than a quarter-mile from the 1300 block of Campbell Street, where a fatal shooting Wednesday night became the city’s seventh homicide of the year.
