If there’s one thing we love, it’s desserts. I mean, honestly, who doesn’t like desserts? Desserts are obviously delicious, but they’re also exceptionally diverse. You can go the baking route, with cakes, cupcakes or even pie. You can also go for something chilly and yummy like ice-cream or a popsicle. There’s also those desserts that you can enjoy for breakfast such as donuts or coffee cake. Many desserts come from exciting and different countries, such as macarons from France, finika from Greece or stroopwafels from the Netherlands.
We also see various desserts consumed around special occasions and holidays. For instance, many celebrate birthdays with cake and cupcakes. Halloween is commonly associated with candy. Thanksgiving gets pumpkin and pecan pie. Then Christmas has Yule logs, fruit cakes and sugar cookies. And the list goes on and on.
We’ve seen many of our favorite desserts come to life in popular culture. For example, everyone knows of the board game Candy Land. Then there’s the show “Adventure Time,” which features characters like Princess Bubblegum and Peppermint Butler.
