OAKLAND — A 21-year-old man was in grave condition after he was shot Saturday morning in East Oakland, authorities said.

The shooting happened about 8:44 a.m. in the 10200 block of International Boulevard.

Police say the man, an Oakland resident, was shot by someone who approached him on the street. The man was taken to a hospital. No motive has been determined, and no arrest has been announced.

Police released photos of the suspect, shown in a heavy brown winter jacket, dark pants and a red backpack. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and police are asking anyone who sees the alleged shooter to call 911.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
