SAN JOSE – A man was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon near Cimarron Park in San Jose, authorities said.
The shooting was reported at about 1:45 p.m. on the 3300 block of Holly Drive, the San Jose Police Department said. The victim’s injuries were initially described as life-threatening.
Shortly after 8 p.m., police said the victim had died.
More information about the homicide is expected to be released Thursday morning.
The killing was the 39th homicide in the city this year, with 30 investigated by San Jose police and nine – the victims of the VTA rail-yard massacre – investigated by the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.
Units are currently at the scene of a shooting in the 3300 block of Holly Dr.
