WATSONVILLE — The Santa Cruz County Coroner’s Office has identified a driver killed in a head-on collision Nov. 20 on Highway 129.
Cesar Romero, a 20-year-old Salinas man, was behind the wheel and died in the fatal crash, Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Ashley Keehn said.
Romero was driving a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier westbound on Highway 129 when he crossed into oncoming traffic and struck two Hollister men riding in a 2004 Ford Freestar, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
In the Ford, a 27-year-old man and 19-year-old man suffered moderate injuries in the crash and were transported to an out-of-county trauma center, police said. Source: www.mercurynews.com
