A woman died Saturday afternoon after having been shot two days earlier while sitting in a vehicle parked next to Lake Merritt.

The 22-year-old woman, whose name has not been released, died at 1:02 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.

The woman was shot by someone outside of her vehicle at 12:50 a.m. Thursday in the 1400 block of Lakeshore Avenue, Oakland police said. She was parked on the west side of the street facing the lake, in a cul-de-sac lined by apartments.

The shooting remains under investigation, and no arrests have been made.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the shooter.  Anyone with information can call police at 510-238-3821 or 510-238-7950 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.

The shooting is the 120th death to be investigated as a homicide this year by Oakland police. The California Highway Patrol also has investigated an additional four homicides on freeways within city limits.

Last year Oakland police investigated 109 homicides in the city — the highest number since 131 homicides happened in the city in 2012.
