The Founding Fathers of the United States of America are George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, John Jay, and Alexander Hamilton. These incredible men laid the framework for arguably the greatest country in the history of civilization. Now, the progressive news and opinion website Salon argues that President Joe Biden is similar to the Founding Fathers.
Salon published an article titled: “How Joe Biden is like America’s founding fathers — and no, I’m not kidding.” The writer understood that the comparison was so far-fetched that he felt the need to add, “I’m not kidding” to the headline.
Salon writer Matthew Rozsa feels as though, “If Joe Biden’s presidency continues on its current track, he may be remembered as a policy visionary ahead of his time and ignored by his peers.”
Rozsa – who has a master’s degree in history from Rutgers and is an ABD in his PhD program in history at Lehigh University – admitted that Biden had “failures,” but claimed that Senators Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) caused Biden’s agenda to die on Capitol Hill.
Rozsa made more excuses for Biden.
“To this point, the political fates have cursed Joe Biden with the same bad luck that afflicted Washington, Jefferson, Hamilton and other founding fathers at their most ambitious but least effective — but without granting him anything close to their storied accomplishments or historical legacy,” Rozsa wrote. “Is that just an ironic coincidence, a minor plot twist in the American story, or a telling symbol of the ultimate failure of the American experiment and the corruption of both our political parties? History will have to answer that question.”
On Twitter, Rozsa wrote, “On July 4th, let’s give Joe Biden his due. Like the founding fathers, he has good ideas that he can’t implement because of petty politics. History will be kind to him. Trump will be remembered as a literal ‘historic loser.'”
Many ridiculed Salon’s fawning adulation of President Biden, and called comparisons to the founding fathers as preposterous.
Editor R.J. Kassam: “Imagine carrying water for a senile old crook who will rank worse than Carter but also even worse the tyranny before the nation was even established. The good news is the founders would’ve been amused rather than incensed by this flibbertigibbet.”
Commentator J.J. Pesavento: “Well, Biden is damn near as old as the founding fathers. Outside of that, that writer needs to be drug tested.”
Biden has experienced extremely poor approval ratings in recent months.
A Harvard CAPS–Harris poll released last week found that 71% of American voters said Biden should not run for a second term.
Biden’s approval ratings are abysmal. As of June 30, Biden’s approval rating was a mere 39% – the lowest of his presidency. Meanwhile, 56% of Americans disapprove of his performance.
