For many of us out there, the cartoons we grew up with were extremely formative. Many of our first crushes came from these cartoons, notably Lola Bunny of “Space Jam” and Jessica Rabbit of “Who Framed Roger Rabbit.”
“Space Jam” premiered in 1996 and introduced Lola Bunny to the “Looney Tunes” universe. Lola Bunny is presented as the love interest turned girlfriend of Bugs Bunny and was first voiced by Kath Soucie. Prior to Lola, Bugs had a girlfriend named Honey Bunny who first appeared in the “Bugs Bunny’s Album” comic book in 1953. Lola Bunny returned to the big screen in 2021’s “Space Jam: A New Legacy.” This time around, she was voiced by Zendaya, who accepted the role from screenwriter Keenan Coogler.
On the other hand, “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” premiered in 1988 and introduced Jessica Rabbit to the big screen. Jessica Rabbit is the wife of cartoon bunny Roger Rabbit, who first appeared in Gary K. Wolf’s 1981 novel “Who Censored Roger Rabbit?” Jessica Rabbit’s speaking voice is done by Kathleen Turner, while her singing voice comes from Amy Irving. She’s known for being one of the most famous animated sex symbols of all time and one of her iconic lines is “I’m not bad, I’m just drawn that way.”
