Canelo Alvarez is moving up in weight to face WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (DAZN PPV, 8 p.m. ET).
Alvarez (57-1-2, 39 KOs), 31, defeated Caleb Plant by 11th-round TKO in November to become the undisputed super middleweight champion. This is Alvarez second fight at 175 pounds. He stop Sergey Kovalev in Round 11 in 2019 to win the WBO title that he later vacated.
Bivol (19-0, 11 KOs), 31, was elevated to WBA “super” champion in 2019 and has made three successful defenses, including a unanimous decision victory against Umar Salamov in December.
Also on the card junior welterweight contender Montana Love takes on Gabriel Gollaz Valenzuela in the 12-round co-main event.
