Ideal for both competition and self-defense, pistol compensators add a higher level of control while shooting. For this reason, Faxon Firearms is growing its EXOS pistol compensator line to include more pistol models. As a result, the expansion of the compensators for concealed carry models opens more options for the defensive shooting industry.
The Faxon Firearms EXOS Compensator Line Adds New Pistol Models
Machined from 6061 aluminum, with a black anodized coating, the EXOS compensator features a uniquely angled front port single chamber design. As a result, comes improved consistency and a reduction in muzzle flip and felt recoil. In addition, the compensators enhance the aesthetics of the pistol.
The unique design of the EXOS compensator allows the gas to deflect upwards instead of just sideways. For this reason, there is a noticeable reduction in up and down muzzle movement for improved accuracy.
The EXOS compensators are designed to be coupled with Faxon barrels for optimal performance. When used with Faxon barrels the compensators provide a flush fit with the slide. However, when used with other barrels, the barrel should protrude .600-inch or less, providing a near flush fit.
Each compensator is manufactured with 1/2×28 threading and ships with thread locker and two 6-32 set screws. In addition, they come with the required 1/16 Allen wrench for easy installation.
An earlier launch of the Faxon Firearms EXOS compensator line featured compensators for compact and subcompact models. The list of already available models is:

The latest release adds three new compact pistol models from Glock, Smith & Wesson, and SIG Sauer:
- EXOS-543 – for Glock® Gen 4 (G17, G19, G34)
- EXOS-525 – for SIG® P365 & P365 XL
- EXOS-524 – for M&P® Shield & Shield Plus
According to Faxon, the company plans to release its EXOS comp for Glock Gen 5 later this year.
