SAN JOSE — Authorities have identified the man shot to death over the weekend in the city’s fifth homicide of the year.
The shooting happened Saturday in the 1900 block of Aborn Road, and officers responded about 7:15 a.m., according to a statement from San Jose police. A man — identified as 23-year-old Elk Grove resident Tommy Chac — was suffering from at least one gunshot wound and died at the scene.
The killing marked the city’s fifth homicide of the year, according to police and data compiled by this news organization. San Jose had recorded 10 homicides by the same point in 2021.
The motive and circumstances of the shooting are under investigation, authorities said. The suspect hasn’t been identified.
