Empowering event

Silicon Valley Clean Energy—a Sunnyvale-based nonprofit that distributes power generated by solar panels and wind turbines, among other sources—is hosting its second “Empower Silicon Valley” youth film contest. The competition challenges local high school students to create short films that envision a future where clean energy is the norm. Midpen is pennywise

The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District was recently recognized for being exceptionally responsible and transparent with its finances. The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada awarded the agency—which purchases and protects green and open space in the South Bay—with a “Triple Crown” medallion after the agency received three achievement certificates from the association.
