Peace of mind is tough to find when purchasing a vehicle online. There are so many boxes to check when it comes to navigating the maze of classified ads, auction listings, and social media posts. One of the ways to make a more calculated decision is to bid using a platform like AutoHunter. Every vehicle up for sale is vetted and title-verified, and each listing is augmented by a CARFAX report, a professionally written listing, and a detailed photo gallery.
Here’s hoping this classic Chevrolet is the next one to find a good home:
Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 1972 Chevrolet C10 Cheyenne. The truck is being offered by a private seller in Sachse, Texas, and the auction will end Monday.
For detail-oriented people, you’re in luck: This truck’s listing comes with nearly 200 photos, over 15 minutes of combined video footage, and a fastidious seller who has gone to great lengths to disclose every nuance. The truck’s red exterior was resprayed during what the seller calls a “ground-up” restoration, and features include Cheyenne Super badging, chrome brightwork, and American Racing wheels on BFGoodrich tires.
The interior was similarly overhauled, using upholstery that comes in a combination of red vinyl and houndstooth. Niceties like air conditioning and an upgraded sound system were included as part of the comprehensive build.
The “Action Line” of Chevrolet light-duty and medium-duty trucks ranged from 1967 through 1972 in a vast array of equipment and powertrain configurations (about 10 available motors and seven different transmissions). Power for this truck comes from a 350ci small-block V8 with a four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, and a mild cam.
The seller reportedly spent over $6,000 in 2024 getting the front-end sorted out. Included on the checklist were replacement of the upper ball joints, lower ball joints, idler arm, tie rod ends, shock absorbers, steering box, and more. In the video, the truck is said to drive straight and true. We believe it!
