Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 1965 Pontiac GTO two-door hardtop. Power comes from a rebuilt 389 engine, with added Tri-Power, backed by a wide-ratio four-speed manual transmission. Notable features include Safe-T-Track, a Rally gauge cluster, a Custom Sports steering wheel, an AM push-button radio, and backup lamps, among others. Painted Capri Gold over a matching Gold interior, this Goat is offered by the selling dealer with service records from when it was new, PHS documentation, the Protect-O-Plate, the original booklet and manual, and a clear Massachusetts title.

The original Capri Gold hue was repainted in the past, but the original Beige vinyl top was left off. Exterior features include a nonfunctional hood scoop, a driver-side mirror, back-up lights, and a manual antenna.

A set of 14-inch Rally I wheels are wrapped in 215/70 Milestar Touring radials.

The cabin is furnished in Gold vinyl with front bucket seats. A four-speed manual with a Hurst shifter resides on the floor sans console, just like how it was originally ordered. Other interior features include a three-spoke Custom Sports steering wheel, power steering, and a push-button AM radio.

The instrument panel includes a 120-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the oil pressure, temperature, battery, and fuel level. The odometer shows 20,395 miles, though the actual mileage is 120,395.

The original “WT” 389 four-barrel was rebuilt at 110,000 miles and currently features a Tri-Power upgrade. It is connected to an M20 wide-ratio four-speed transmission.

This GTO features an independent front suspension and a rear solid axle featuring 3.23 gears with Safe-T-Track, Pontiac’s branded limited-slip differential. Other features include power brakes and a dual exhaust system.
