SAN JOSE — The San Jose Sharks reduced their training camp roster by 13 players on Monday, sending five back to their respective junior teams and moving others to the Barracuda for the official start of their camp next month.

Forwards Nolan Burke, Joe Carroll, Luke Grainger, Donovan Villeneueve-Houle, and Ivan Lodnia, plus defensemen Jeremie Bucheler, Gannon Laroque, and goalie Aaron Dell, have been assigned to or will be invited to Barracuda camp. Dell and Lodnia are in camp on a tryout basis.

Forwards Nathan Pilling and Carson Wetsch, defensemen Nate Misskey and Colton Roberts, and goalie Dawson Cowan have all been assigned back to their junior teams.

Wetsch, Roberts, and Misskey were all drafted by the Sharks in June. Laroque was selected by San Jose in 2021 in the fourth round.

Without Dell and Cowan, the Sharks have five healthy goalies in camp. Yaroslav Askarov has been out with a lower-body injury since before camp started and has been considered day-to-day to this point.

Other players who have not practiced are captain Logan Couture (osteitis pubis), defensemen Marc-Edouard Vlasic (upper body), and Shakir Mukhamadullin (lower body).

The Sharks’ training camp now has 56 players, with 32 forwards and 19 defensemen. San Jose’s next preseason game is Tuesday at home against the Anaheim Ducks.
