Library groundbreaking
Construction of the new Lakewood Branch Library was set to begin after a public groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 5. The library is expected to open in late 2025.
According to the Sunnyvale city manager’s office, there will be “a few inconveniences” during construction. The existing parking lot along Lakechime Drive will be closed, and traffic congestion is expected in the area during school drop-off and pick-up hours. Street parking will also be limited.
