HAYWARD — A 36-year-old man died after gunfire erupted Monday afternoon, police said.

Officers found the man suffering from more than one bullet wound when they arrived to the 22000 block of Santa Clara Street about 3:25 p.m., according to a statement from Hayward police. He died at the scene.

The man’s identity was not immediately released.

Police said they have not made any arrests, nor did they say what they believe the motive might be. The homicide investigation was their 10th this year.

The 11th homicide investigation started Wednesday, when a 60-year-old man was stabbed to death in the 800 block of C Street.
