The Tempest was Pontiac’s budget midsize model until the T-37 was introduced in midyear 1970. The 1971 T-37 featured here on AutoHunter Cinema isn’t one of the few originally equipped with the 455 HO V8, but it did end up receiving a transplant. Rescued from an Indiana field, it underwent a complete rotisserie restoration.
As part of the process, it was refinished in its factory Tropical Lime, which coordinates with the green interior. The 455 is paired with a Turbo 400 automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear end. This upgraded T-37 sold at the Barrett-Jackson 2024 Palm Beach Auction for $30,800.
