A fatal shooting left one person dead in Pittsburg on the night of Fourth of July, authorities said.
Police responded at 11:54 p.m. to the 200 block of West 10th Street, a largely residential area of Pittsburg with a small grocery market.
A male victim suffering from several gunshot wounds was given medical aid until paramedics arrived, police said, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Police did not release identifying details about the victim, citing the ongoing investigation.
