Nebraska lawmaker apologizes for using colleague’s name in book’s rape description
Republican Nebraska state Sen. Steve Halloran is facing calls to resign after he inserted Sen. Machaela Cavanaugh’s name into a passage he read during a debate from a book’s rape scene that contained graphic details, reports CNN affiliate WOWT. Halloran apologized on the Senate floor for inserting his colleague’s name, defending his decision to read the passage.
