The Colorado Avalanche traded forward Kurtis MacDermid to the New Jersey Devils on Friday in exchange for a 2024 seventh-round draft pick and the rights to forward Zakhar Bardakov.
MacDermid, who turns 30 this month, has skated in 29 games for Colorado this season. He has scored two goals with 23 penalty minutes.
MacDermid joins his third NHL team after appearing in 249 career games for the Los Angeles Kings (2017-21) and Colorado (2021-24). He has recorded 30 points (11 goals, 19 assists), 318 penalty minutes and 489 hits in his career.
New Jersey selected Bardakov in the seventh round of the 2021 draft. He currently plays for SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL in his native Russia.
