INDIANAPOLIS — Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry has a Jones fracture in his right foot, a source confirmed to ESPN’s Jordan Reid.
The fracture was discovered by doctors during the medical evaluations at the NFL combine. McKinstry plans to work out at his pro day later this month and then undergo surgery.
A source told ESPN’s Pete Thamel that McKinstry should be ready for training camp.
McKinstry is a likely first-round pick and the third-ranked cornerback on Reid’s top 50 prospects list. The junior cornerback finished with 32 tackles and seven passes defensed last season.
The NFL Network was first to report on McKinstry’s injury.
