LAFAYETTE — A woman had a health incident while driving and died Wednesday night after her Tesla slammed into a tree on Highway 24, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened about 6:55 p.m. in the westbound direction near the Pleasant Hill Road exit, according to a statement from CHP spokesperson Officer Adam Lane.
The woman died after being taken by ambulance to a hospital. Authorities did not release her identity early Thursday.
Authorities did not say what they believed the health emergency to be.
