The remainder of 2023 will be cause for much celebration: There are over ten holidays celebrated around the world between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Let’s look at another holiday that you may want to add to your agenda – an Oldsmobile Holiday, to be precise.

“Nice driving classic! This is the rare 98 Holiday hardtop model and is loaded with options like power brakes, steering, windows, and even working power seat. Has the rare headlight dimmer, too,” the listing begins.
The 98’s name originally came from combining the “Series 90” model with a V8 engine. Today’s car is a fourth-generation 98, and it ranked at the high end of the Oldsmobile model lineup when it launched in 1954. The car rode on the General Motors C-platform and had a wheelbase that was four inches longer than its sibling, the 88. The list of standard features was lengthy for its time, and features included bumper guards, aluminum door sill plates, a cigarette lighter, decklid ornamentation, and a padded dash.
While this car looks fantastic in photos, the seller provides an honest assessment of the condition. Worth noting: The car has been repainted once to its original color scheme, and there was some filler found in the inner quarter panels. In addition, the chrome shows some corrosion, and the interior has some tears along the seams as well as a worn driver arm rest. All that being said, this car is much better suited to be a “driver” than an all-out showpiece (and it is priced accordingly). Power comes from Oldsmobile’s “Rocket” 324cid V8 mated to a Hydramatic automatic transmission. The listing says, “Runs and drives great. You can drive it on the highway. Mechanically sound, dual exhaust sounds great. Tires in good condition.” The seller later summarizes the car as a “A great turn-key classic to get in and enjoy. Good driver.”
